I am a graphic designer, in the field for 5 years, and my job is done 100% on the computer. I currently have a full time job which requires me to drive an hour to and from work and with the price of gas I can hardly afford it. I know for sure I can find a job telecommuting, a.k.a. working from home. I just don’t know where to start. My resume and portfolio are ready to go. Does anyone have this type of job? Advice on how to find one?

Who else is sick of working in an office looking at a freakin’ computer all day? I hate this life, but nowadays computers are the thing, I do NOT want to do this for the rest of my life, but what can pay great and be fun???? It seems impossible. I have a degree in Graphic Design, which I know I can work from home, which is a factor I want, work from home or anything with travel, challenges, working on movies…….what can I do?
Wow, you guys are awesome, all your answers are impressive, I thought I would get some dumb short answers, but yes, starting my own business is sthg. I want to do, but how do you start with that, it seems overwhelming and also, I am a very hard-worker, I have always been complimented as a detail-oriented and very fast and hard worker. I know I can do anything, but I am just lost in what to do. For hobbies, I love traveling, writing, directing movies, fashion, training people. I have experience in marketing, teaching, database softwares and programs, accounts payable, formulas, and lots of other stuff.

I love my husband so much. He works and goes to school right now and I can barely spend any time with him. I can’t stand it, it’s very depressing. When he’s done with school, he’s going to be getting a 9-5 Mon-Fri job - great! More time for us, right? I’ll also have the chance of getting my dream job. By dream job, I mean I’ve been wanting this since I was about 6 years old. Here’s the problem. The dream job requires me to be available 24/7 - that means working lots of nights and weekends which means not much time with hubby still…
I’ll be happy while I’m at work, but horribly bored and depressed when I’m rotting at home by myself and he’s at work… or I could be happy when I’m with him and horribly depressed and angry with myself while at work… I don’t know what to do!!!

I’m curious, because while I don’t have any children of my own yet, I want to be a stay at home mom one day. I would be truely happy being in the home, caring for my children, cooking, cleaning etc. However, it seems to me that fewer and fewer people WANT to do this…I often get odd reactions when I tell people that my dream job is mother/homemaker. Your opinions please.

I’m a stay at home mom and I love it, but it’s not alyways fun and games. when the kids are sick or I’m up all night with the new baby. My husband says “you have my dream job, all you do is play outside all day. I wish we could switch places.” I wouldn’t want his job, but I still feel kind of offended that he says I have his dream job. what should i do?
