I was asked to drive to the home office to fill out my paperwork, get my company cellphone and laptop, etc.. The home office is 6 hours away. They have made hotel arrangements for me and will be taking care of the expense, but it looks like I will have to at least front the gas money which I anticipate to be around $160-$180 round trip. Normally this would not be a problem, but I have been unemployed for so long and my funds have been depleted.
Is there a professional way to ask for an advance for gas money?
