How long did it take to find your comfortable job?

Many people don’t find a good job, or “dream” job until they’re well into their middle-age. But how long did it take you to find your niche? Your comfortable job i mean. How many different careers and industries have you been through to get there? I’m currently at my first post-college job in the electrical engineering field. I don’t see myself staying there for much longer. It’s boring, uninteresting work. It’s lazy and slow and I don’t feel like I’m working but more waiting out days. I want something more fast paced but with good benefits and good pay. EE also pays crap. I want to feel busy and come home fairly tired.
