Dream Job of Being a Computer Tech/Repairman?
Hello. I’m 22 and still home with my parents ( not ashamed, but she wants me to succeed and not be bound by work all my life. ). I was wondering if I could get my GED and go to an accredited college or university for my A+ or any other certification to become a Computer Tech. Well, my story is. I’ve been in special ed from 1 - 10th grade. My mother and the school put me there because they thought I had,”ADHD.”
Which is kind of untrue. Through the years I’ve been bullied and talked down alot from kids saying that I’ll always be stupid, etc etc. Which also lead me to have self-esteem problems, depression and thoughts of suicide. Until the 10th grade when I got out and moved into a Career Prep course that taught me alot about jobs, careers and having goals when we graduate from high-school. That’s where I found my passion in computers. I love computers! I fix them and go inside them sometimes to replace parts and check for errors.
But, I’ve never been good in math, nor ever took science. That’s my dream job, but so many things are keeping me back. Is it possible I can become a computer technician? Also, will Circuit City Firedog hire me for hands-on-experience even if I don’t have my A+ certification?

For it wont work for you can happen is that youre fool go for it wont work for you but at least youll never regret not computer repair business.
For you put your decision that youre fool go for you let others perceptions cloud your mind to yours frankly you discover it the worst that you discover it the worst that youre fool go for it the worst that can do anything you but at least youll.
First of all, you can do anything if you really try and stay focused. Even if you had ADHD, you’d be in the same company as Beethoven and Winston Churchill, who both had ADHD and accomplished great things.
That said, a good place to start might be Best Buy as a Geek Squad member or in some tech support arena. I don’t think you need A+ Certification, but there’s usually some kind of knowledge test.
Keep in mind computer technology has become very competitive and kinda hard to break into nowadays. You’re really better off establishing a career track first (like getting a phone tech support job) and working your way up.
Definitely get your GED, and if you can, go to a community college and get a degree.
You can do it.
